Zusammenfassung:Refractory materials incorporating this binder are used for lining various types of metallurgical units - oxygen-blown converters, electric metallurgical units, electric furnaces and steel teeming ladles, as well as for preparing packing masses and masses for furnace repairs. They have a high coke residue content and improved compression strength. The binder formulation is based on phenol novolac resin and furfuryl alcohol and contains additionally 5-110 parts by weight of tricresyl phosphate, ethyl silicate or γ-aminopropyl triethoxysilane, requiring 24-26 parts by weight of solid novolac resin. The phenol novolac resin content is 495-500 parts by weight and the furfuryl alcohol content - 625-630 parts by weight.
