MECHANIZED DRILL FOR SOIL TESTING

The drill is used for collecting soil samples in disturbedstate for agrochemical and other analyses. It can drill with easeand conveniently even in dry and hard soils without great physicalefforts, to depths of 2.0 m. and more at minimum damage to theland. The drill consists of a portable motor (1) supplied with areduction gear (2), stem (6) and cup for the sample (11). Acylindrical pin is pressed diametrically to the output shaft ofthe reduction gear by which easily dismantable connection iseffected with the upper bushing of the stem. The lower end of stem(6) is in the form of a bushing having segments on the upperperiphery and the leading surface of the cup for samples (11). Thelatter is a thin-walled tube having L-shaped grooves machined inits upper part of the wall for making an easily dismantableconnection with stem (5).
