Zusammenfassung: | Process for recovering a particular metal e.g. Ag. Cu or al from scrap without creating atmos. pollution comprises introducing the scrap and a source of O2 into a mass composed of a mixt. of molten metal salts which comprises a, or a mixt. of alkali metal carbonates opt. a major proportion of an alkali metal carbonates with a secondary pref. >=1 wt.% of an alkali metal sulphate, to thermally decompose the scraps and form decomposition products and the required metal. The released metal and the decomposition products are recovered separately, and the molten salt bath is kept at a temp. of 800-1800 degrees C which is > the m.pt. of the metal to be recovered. |
