Zusammenfassung:	1418657 Valves COMBUSTION ENG Inc 28 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 59839/72 Heading F2V In a seal assembly a trapped volume of liquid preventing the flow of gas from duct 42, Fig. 2, into duct 44, can be drained at 54, 56 to permit the gas flow. Moreover, the assembly includes nozzles 66a-66f, Fig. 3, and (68a-68f), Fig. 4 (not shown), through which sufficient liquid may be supplied to flush any sediment out through the drains whilst maintaining the trapped volume of liquid and thereby the seal. However, normally the drains are closed and liquid is supplied only through nozzles 66c and (68c) and is discharged via overflow troughs 74, thereby maintaining the trapped volume whilst continuously replenishing the liquid therein. The assembly is used to control flue-gas flow through ducting by-passing a gas scrubber (12), Fig. 1 (not shown).
