Zusammenfassung: | 1310488 Refining lubricating oils TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 9 Sept 1971 [6 Oct 1970] 42023/71 Heading C5E Lubricating oils are made by solvent extracting a vacuum distillate or deasphalted residuum to produce a raffinate and an aromatic extract, hydrorefining the extract, using a catalyst comprising a Group VIII metal or a compound thereof supported on a crystalline aluminosilicate of reduced alkali metal content, combining the hydrorefined extract with the raffinate or recycling it to the solvent extraction, and solvent dewaxing the product oil. The solvent extraction refining is carried out using furfuryl, phenol, dichloroethyl ether or N- methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The extract is hydrorefined to increase its viscosity index e.g. at 600-900 F. and 800-5000 p.s.i.g. The hydrorefining can be carried out in a single stage, e.g. using a catalyst comprising Ni and W on a support consisting of a decationized zeolite Y, silica and alumina, or in two stages-first to saturate aromatics using a catalyst on alumina and then to hydrocrack using a catalyst such as Pt or Pd, together with rhenium or of nickel together with rhenium on a support comprising a low alkali metal zeolite together with silica and alumina. Cracking during hydrorefining can be reduced by including 0À1-2% ammonia or carbon monoxide in the hydrogen. The product oil can be hydrofinished, e.g. at 400- 650 F. and 400-1500 p.s.i.g. before or after the solvent dewaxing. |
