Zusammenfassung:	Treatment of newly produced, articial, filaments, esp. viscose, by subjecting these to drawing while in the plastic state, reduction and washing with periodic hydroextraction, with the improvement whereby the filaments are treated in succession with a plasticising liquid (A) which modifies the acid and salt content, and with saturated steam (B) heated to high temperature to bring about reduction and eliminate CS2, the drawing of the filaments in the plasticised state being carried out simultaneously with the treatment by (A) and (B) and by the washing liquid, while for the periodic hydro-extraction the filaments are passed through elastic porous partitions placed in their path and separating the zones of liquid and steam treatment from each other and from the external environment.
