Zusammenfassung: | 1313948 Machine tool details KEARNEY & TRECKER CORP 4 Dec 1970 [19 Jan 1970] 57636/70 Heading B3B In a machine tool having a bed 12 supporting a table base 24 for rectilinear movement, the base 24 having at least one index table 34, 34A, there is provided; a single power drive means, e.g. a single motor 40, operably connectible to effect either the rectilinear movement of the table base 24 or the rotary movement of the index table, selectively; a first motion translating means located in the table base 24 to effect rectilinear motion of the said table base relative to the bed 12; a second motion translating means carried by said table base to effect rotary motion of said index table; coupling means operable to selectively engage said power drive means with either said first or second motion translating means; and control means to regulate said power drive means. The machine tool is controlled by programme control means 30, including punched tape. The first motion translating means comprises a feed screw 38 rotatably mounted in the table base 24 and operably connected with a nut 39 fixed to the bed 12. The motor 40 and said first means are geared so that one revolution of the motor produces 0À1 inch of travel, there being a rotary signal generator 42 provided to generate pulses which are used in the programme control. The second motion translating means for indexing the tables 34, 34A comprises a rotary shaft 85 having a bevel gear 81 connection with a gear train, e.g. 80, 75, 77, 60, to rotate the index tables 34, 34A. The gearing is such that one revolution of the motor 40 produces 1 degree of rotation of the tables, the signal generator 42 again generating the pulses. Before a table 34, 34A is indexed it is first raised hydraulically to disengage locating gear rings 51, 52 and engage a ring gear 60 with the drive gear 77. The gear rings 51, 52 ensure positive incremental indexing, e.g. with 72 teeth, in 50 increments. The coupling means (Fig. 4, not shown) includes movable gear assembly (84) having a ring gear in constant mesh with a drive gear on the motor shaft. The assembly (84) is movable to further engage the ring gear with either the feed screw 38 or the rotary shaft 85. The disengaged drive is always locked against rotation by means of lock members (99), (107). The coupling means is actuated hydraulically by valve means (Fig. 5, not shown) which includes a spool for each index table 34, 34A. Movement of a spool also moves a selector rod (126) to m |
