Zusammenfassung:	Assembling apparatus comprises strip feeding means for feeding a strip of articles along a predetermined path which extends above a supported workpiece. Assembly is carried out by means of a punch which is movable, in two stages, towards the workpiece. The inserting punch moves downwardly, in a first stage, and grasps the leading article of the strip. The carrier strip to which the article is attached, is then moved laterally while the article is supported against movement thereby to shear the leading article from the strip. The punch then moves downwardly through the remainder of its stroke to carry the article towards the workpiece and assemble it thereto. The article may comprise e.g. a terminal pin and the workpiece a printed circuit board.
