Zusammenfassung:	1297168 Mercaptoalkyl alkoxysilanes DOW CORNING CORP 28 July 1970 [4 Aug 1969 23 April 1970] 36389/70 Heading C3S Mercaptoalkyl alkoxysilanes of the formula HSR111SiR1 x (OR) 3-x , wherein R111 represents -CH 2 - or -CH 2 CH 2 -, R1 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon radical free of aliphatic unsaturation or a radical R f CH 2 CH 2 -, R f represents a perfluoroalkyl radical, R represents a C 1-6 alkyl or C 2-6 alkoxyalkyl radical, and x is 0, 1 or 2, are prepared by reacting a thiouronium salt of the formula Cl-(NR11 2 ) 2 +CSR111SiR1 x (OR) 3-x (wherein R11 represents hydrogen or a methyl group) with ammonia in a monohydric alcohol solvent under essentially anhydrous conditions. The starting materials are obtainable by reacting the appropriate thiourea CS(NR11 2 ) 2 with a silane of the formula ClR111SiR1 x (OR) 3-x . Examples describe the preparation ofmercaptomethyltrimethoxysilane and beta - mercaptoethylmethyldimethoxysilane.
