Zusammenfassung: | Oil produced from coal (e.g. by catalytic hydrogenation or extraction is mixed with a porous inorganic carrier (e.g. aluminium oxide or silica gel) in a weight ratio of from 3:1 to 2:5, eluted with a non-polar hydrocarbon (e.g. n-hexane) to separate a fraction of low nitrogen content and then eluted with an aromatic compound (e.g. toluene and/or pyridine) to separate a fraction of high nitrogen content. The oil can be diluted with chloroform prior to the separation. The carrier is regenerated by combustion. |
