Press brake tool holder

Press brake tool holder having a horizontally elongated body (12) having a support plate (14), and a horizontally elongated clamp (40, 42) having upper (66) and lower (68) portions and pivotally attached to the body (12) between the upper (66) and lower (68) portions to capture the upwardly extending shank (30) of a brake press tool. Mounting pins (52) extend from one of the clamp (40, 42) and the body (12) and terminate in enlarged heads (56) which are received in slots (58) in the other of the clamp (40, 42) and the body (12). The enlarged heads (56) articulate with the receiving slots (58) as the clamp (40, 42) pivots between clamped and unclamped positions. The slots include portions of increased width (60) defining entryways admitting passage of the enlarged heads (56), enabling easy removal and attachment of the clamp (40, 42). Preferably, compressible elements (64) between the clamp (40, 42) and body (12) resiliently urge upper and lower portions (66, 68) of the clamp (40, 42) away from the body (12).
