Zusammenfassung: | The liquid fuel evaporation system for gas turbine engines has a "heat pipe" in the form of a closed container of non-condensible gas which pre-heats the incoming fuel and leads to more efficient combustion, with the object of reducing the carbon-monoxide and oxides of nitrogen passing through the exhaust. The fuel inlet pipes (36) are situated over a trough-like conductor tube (37) leading to the central duct (30). A typical air/fuel ratio is 20/1. Extra cooling is provided for the "heat pipe" to control the pressure within the sealed container. |
