METHOD FOR IN-HOUSE VOICE AND DATA COMMUNICATION THROUGH THE IN-HOUSE POWER SUPPLY

The method according to the invention uses two channels for voice and data processing, where voice transmission is carried out by means of frequency modulation while for data transmission, in particular for the transmission of dialling information, a pulse modulation method is used. The caller transmits digital telegrams which contain the necessary information such as the type of action, source address and destination address. The called party responds with an acknowledgement telegram. A handshaking routine is then carried out. The telegrams are generated in simple fashion by insertion and removal of the carrier frequency. The internal power distribution network provides a bus with two channels, which are allocated according to a fixed pattern when the network is accessed. This method enables the simple setting up of a direct connection between two subscribers, and an in-house communication network can be implemented in simple fashion. No central switch is required. The in-house communication network can be connected to the public telephone network.
