Zusammenfassung:	The relay has its coil supplied from an AC or DC sourge and in series with a photo conductive call optically coupled in translucent or transparent encapsulation to a photo emissive diode such that variation in light emission from the diode alters the coil circuit resistance and brings the relay in or out of operation. The emitting diode is supplied through the rails from a source reasonably close and protected from voltage excursions by diodes. As a train moves over the rail section, power to the diode is shunted causing a fall in diode emitted light and operation of the relay. Thus coil hysteresis effects do not cause irregularity of operation.
