Zusammenfassung: | In optical data carriers with a (transparent) substrate and information layer containing a light-absorbing compound (I), suitable for writing and reading with blue (laser) light, (I) has an absorption maximum at 340-410 nm and the wavelengths at which the extinction on the long-wave side of the absorption maximum is half and one-tenth of that at the absorption maximum are both in the 370-460 nm range. Optical data carriers with a preferably transparent substrate, optionally with a reflective coating, have a light-writable information layer, and optionally reflective layer and protective layer, another substrate or covering layer on the surface and are suitable for writing and reading with blue light, preferably laser light. The information layer contains a light-absorbing compound (I) and optionally a binder. The novel features are that (I) has an absorption maximum lambda m a x 1 at 340-410 nm and the wavelengths lambda 1 / 2 and lambda 1 / 1 0 at which the extinction on the long-wave side of lambda m a x 1 is half and one-tenth of that at lambda m a x 1 are both in the 370-460 nm range. An independent claim is also included for production of the data carriers by coating the substrate, optionally with a reflective coating, with (I), optionally in combination with suitable binders, additives and solvents and optionally applying a reflective coating, other intermediate layers and a protective layer, another substrate or a covering layer. |
