Zusammenfassung:A flame retardant compound, which is a halogenated epoxy resin, having its epoxy groups blocked at least partially by halogenated bisphenol monoalkyl ether (HBPMAE). The flame retardant compound may be a brominated epoxy resin, having its epoxy groups blocked at least partially by brominated bisphenol monoalkyl ether. The flame retardant compound may have general formula (II) wherein Y is H or CH3, or is O if Z is S; Z is C or S; and X is Br or Cl, R1 is alkyl, R2 is alkyl or Glycidyl or -CH2-CHOH-CH2-OR3, R3 is alkyl, acyl or aryl, and n is from 1 to 100. R1 and R2 may be alkyl and X may be Br.
