Compounds of Formula I where R1 is H are prepared by treating a compound of the formula with R6OH and HCl where R6 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl. The compounds may be alkylated and subsequently reduced to give compounds of Formula II or epoxidized to give compounds of Formula III.
