OXYDEHYDRATION CATALYST

Isobutyric acid is oxidatively dehydrogenated to methacrylic acid by contact with a heterogeneous catalyst in the presence of molecular oxygen. The catalyst is composed of calcined phosphates of iron containing boron, aluminum, gallium or indium as a modifier or dopant component.
