Zusammenfassung:	A pharmaceutical composition contains (all-Z)-5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoic acid or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters or amides and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle. The (all-Z)-5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoic acid or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters or amides can be used for the treatment or prophylaxis of thromboembolic states, to increase the bleeding time, dissolve or disperse thrombi or platelet aggregates which have already formed or to modify or prevent the adhesion of platelets to damaged tissue. They can furthermore be used to treat platelets in order to reduce their tendency to aggregation and/or to increase the rate of their separation from one another. They can furthermore be used as additive to blood in an extracorporeal circulation.
