Zusammenfassung: | In a process for extracting metals, e.g. Ni, from a source by roasting in a reducing atmosphere at 550-900 degrees C in contact with at least one additive, a small part of the source material is pretreated with the additive then mixed with the remainder of the source material before reducing the charge. Metals e.g. Co, Cu, Mn, Ni and other metals soluble in ammoniacal (NH)2CO3 solns. may be extracted, Ni being of particular interest. The extraction efficiency is improved e.g. 92% Ni extraction of 28.7% without pretreating the ore. Conventional appts. can be used as well conventional processes related to this extraction process. The additive can be regenerated. |
