Zusammenfassung:	A housing in a vacuum cleaner is subdivided into a first space and a separate second space which does not communicate with the first space but is in heat-exchanging relationship with the first space. An impeller is located in the second space for sucking dust-laden air into one end of the second space and discharging it out the other. The drive motor for the impeller means is located in the first space. Thus, the drive means is not contacted by the dust-laden air passing through the second space but is nevertheless cooled by such dust-laden air.
