Process for the carrying out of enzymatic determinations which proceed with the formation of NAD(P)H and in which intermediate products and nonspecifically reacting disturbing substances are allowed to react to completion in a preliminary reaction, characterized in that during the preliminary reaction one simultaneously carries out an enzymatic consuming NAD(P)H which completely oxidises the NAD(P)H formed to NAD(P) and, at the commencement of the measurement reaction, the reaction consuming NAD(P)H is stopped.
