Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:An object oriented control system (10) for use by a surgeon in opthalmic surgery has a plurality of modules (e.g., (20, 30, 40, 50) for controlling the tasks of a plurality of microsurgical instruments, each of the modules responsive to a data control signal to control the operation of its respective instrument. A computer control device (10) receives the control commands from a surgeon and invokes one or more of the computer program objects while the control system periodically polls the control field of each computer program object to determine the status of each selected task and enable or disable the execution of the functions in accordance with the polled status to generate data control signals to control the operation of the instruments.
