Zusammenfassung: | An object position measurement system iteratively records images of the object as it moves along a path and updates a sequence of object path measurements in response to the recorded images, and produces an accurate decision from precision estimation concerning the object position, based on the recorded images. In the case of a baseball umpire decision task, the object is a baseball and the object path is the flight of the baseball from the pitcher to the batter at home plate. The system captures the flight of the baseball as it is thrown by the pitcher and travels toward the batter. An image capture subsystem records the flight of the baseball. A control subsystem processes the images collected by the image capture subsystem, and produces an accurate decision about whether the pitch is strike or a ball, based on the processed images. |
