Adapter and cap for waste compaction vehicle

Cams for disposition over the circumference of the wheels of a refuse compaction vehicle each comprise an adapter (1) which in use is fixed to a wheel and a cap (2) which is located on the adapter in a detachable and non-rotatable manner. Plug-in connection securing devices are provided, for example dowel pins (3, Fig 8), which can be driven through holes formed in the side walls of the cap (2) and adapter (1). Grooves (5, Fig 6) directed parallel to the fitting direction of the cap (2) are provided in the front and rear end walls (4) of the adapter (1), into which grooves correspondingly formed projections (6, Fig 3) provided on the inner front and rear end walls (7) of the cap (2), can be inserted.
