Abstract The invention relates to a surgical clip comprising a first leg member having a first inner surface with a first longitudinal curvature, a first thickness in a compression direction and a first length in a longitudinal direction. The first leg member has at least one first wing member extending laterally of the first inner surface and defining a first width in a lateral direction. The clips further comprises a second leg member having a second inner surface with a second longitudinal curvature, a hinge member pivotally coupling the first leg member and the second leg member, the hinge member including a slot configured to receive tissue, and a proximal extension extending from one of the first and second leg members, the proximal extension including at least one tooth configured to pinch the tissue during movement of the first and second leg members to a closed configuration.
