Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method of producing a food product (100) or a food precursor (130, 140) for production of a food product (100), especially a meat substitute product, comprising the steps of: - pulling (1100) a first and second continuous food precursor (130) (130, 140) in a conveying direction (F), - orientedly arranging (1200) the first and second continuous food precursor (130) (130, 140) orthogonally to conveying direction (F) in order to form a continuous strand (150), - conveying (1300) the continuous strand (140) in the direction of a shaping apparatus (5) under the action of tensile forces (Z), - forming (1400) a shaped article (170) by applying compressive forces (D) with at least one compressive force component (D1) orthogonally to conveying direction (F), - separating (1500) the continuous strand (150) into a strand portion (160) or the shaped article (170) into a food product (100), and - releasing (1600) the shaped article (170) or food product (100). The invention further relates to a control method (3000) for such a method, to a correspondingly produced food product (100) and to a food production machine (1) for performance of the method.
