SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONVERTING GASEOUS CARBON COMPOUNDS TO CARBON NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE PRODUCTS

A system and method for converting gaseous carbon compounds to carbon neutral or negative products. The system and method may use thermochemical processes to convert 5 gaseous carbon compounds to syngas followed by thermochemical or biological processes to produce products or use biological processes to metabolise the gaseous carbon compounds. The gaseous carbon compounds include a mixture of C02 and CH4 from either a single source, or two or more different sources. Separate biological processes are incorporated to process different gaseous carbon compounds. A gaseous carbon compound 10 produced as a by-product of one biological process is used as the, or part of the, feedstock for another process. To assist in minimising carbon footprint and enabling an overall carbon negative profile, a renewable energy system is provided to power apparatus and equipment in the systems and method. A control system is used to control the flow of the gaseous carbon compounds and the reactants entering the carbon processing plant to provide mass 15 balanced quantities of the gaseous carbon compounds and the reactants in each processing system and the gaseous carbon compounds transferred between two or more processing systems.
