Zusammenfassung:	The invention deals with a method for manufacturing molten pig iron into an electrical smelting furnace 13, said method comprising the following successive steps: - providing a directly reduced iron product 12, - providing a carbon and iron containing material 30, - feeding at least a part of the smelting furnace with the DRI product 12 in alternance with the carbon and iron containing material 30, - melting the DRI Product 12 and the carbon and iron containing material 30 to produce molten pig iron 14. It also deals with the manufacturing of steel from said pig iron.
