An equipment preservation intent determination assistance system 1 comprising: a load distribution estimation unit 102 for estimating a load applied to a structure to be maintained over time and/or a load applied to equipment constituting the structure to be maintained over time; a failure probability estimation unit 103 for predicting, on the basis of the estimated load, a failure occurrence probability, which is the probability that the equipment will fail over time; and a risk/cost calculation unit 104 for estimating, on the basis of the predicted failure occurrence probability, a risk that arises when an obstacle occurs in driving of the structure to be maintained, and calculating, on the basis of the failure occurrence probability, a cost required in maintaining the structure to be maintained. There are thereby provided a maintenance assistance device, a maintenance assistance method, and a program with which it is possible to obtain information for replacement, repair, or the like at a more suitable timing for each item of equipment during maintenance of the structure to be maintained.
