Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a power supply device and a power supply method for supplying power to a submerged pump used to transport a liquefied gas such as liquefied ammonia, liquefied natural gas (LNG), or liquid hydrogen. A power supply device (15) comprises: a first electrical contact (21) which is secured to a submerged pump (7) and which is electrically connected to a motor (7a) of the submerged pump (7); a second electrical contact (22) contacting the first electrical contact (21); and a power cable (25) electrically connected to the second electrical contact (22). At least a portion of the second electrical contact (22) is disposed inside a pump column (10) housing the submerged pump (7).
