GREENING SYSTEM AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF

Provided are a greening system using container units that are easy to process, said greening system being easy to construct and having excellent waterproofness, water retention, heat insulating properties and load resistance, and a construction method thereof. The greening system is for growing plants and equipped with a soil layer for planting plants, a water-permeable soil layer-supporting part that supports the soil layer, and a water container part that comprises a water reservoir part and an air layer thereabove and supports the soil layer and the soil layer-supporting part, wherein: the water container part is configured so that a container unit has a nearly rectangular shape when viewed from above and the edges of adjacent container units are mated with each other to form the water reservoir part; the container unit has at least two container-shaped portions connected to each other, each of which can serve as a water container; and an overflow part is provided at a predetermined position in the container unit so as to allow water to overflow to the adjacent container-shaped portion, the adjacent container unit and outside the container unit.
