Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a lead alloy from which it is possible to manufacture a positive electrode which is for a lead storage battery and in which gross is unlikely to occur. This lead alloy contains 0.4-2 mass% of tin and 0.004 mass% or less of bismuth, the remaining portion being lead and unavoidable impurities. The diffraction intensity in cube orientation {001} in a pole figure created by analyzing the surface of the lead alloy by an X-ray diffraction method is not more than four times of the diffraction intensity in a random orientation in a pole figure created by analyzing a powder of pure lead by the X-ray diffraction method.
