Zusammenfassung:Provided is a lead alloy that makes it possible to produce a positive electrode for lead storage batteries in which corrosion that passes through a positive electrode lead layer in the thickness direction is unlikely to occur. The lead alloy contains 0.4-2 mass% of tin and not more than 0.004 mass% of bismuth, with the remainder being lead and unavoidable impurities. In image analysis of a crystal orientation distribution map produced by analyzing the surface of the lead alloy by electron backscatter diffraction, if intersections of a straight line extending in a specific direction and misorientation boundaries between crystal grains having crystal misorientation of not less than 5° are extracted, and then the distances between adjacent pairs of the extracted intersections are measured, the average value of said distances is not more than 50 μm.
