A vacuum cleaner according to one aspect of the present specification comprises: a dust bin for storing dust suctioned through a suction part; a motor housing coupled at the upper side of the dust bin to the dust bin; a handle part coupled to the motor housing; a motor located inside the motor housing; a cyclone part located inside the dust bin and configured to separate dust suctioned through the suction part; a filter part located inside the dust bin and configured to, while air separated from dust passes through the cyclone part, filter the air; and a compression part for compressing dust inside the dust bin, wherein the compression part comprises: a movable part disposed inside the motor housing and capable of vertically moving inside the dust bin along a space between the outside of the filter part and the inner circumferential surface of the dust bin; an operation part disposed outside the motor housing and operated to vertically move the movable part; and a transmission part for connecting, inside the motor housing, the operation part to the movable part.
