Zusammenfassung:Abstract The invention relates to an active composition for a pyrotechnic decoy target that burns at a wind speed of more than 100 m/s while emitting spectral infrared radiation, to a pyrotechnic decoy target comprising said active composition and to use of said active composition, wherein said active composition comprises an organic first fuel and an 5 oxidizing agent, wherein the first fuel is an aliphatic or heterocyclic compound or an aliphatic or heterocyclic polymer, wherein there are not more than 5 carbon atoms in a row in the aliphatic compound or the aliphatic polymer and there are not more than 5 directly adjacent carbon atoms in the heterocycle(s) in the heterocyclic compound or the heterocyclic polymer, and the active composition further comprises a salt of an 10 aliphatic carboxylic acid as second fuel.
