Zusammenfassung:COFFEE COMPACTING ASSEMBLY AND TAMPER Abstract A coffee compacting assembly to compact ground coffee in a filter cup held by a portafilter, the coffee compacting assembly has a holder for supporting the portafilter with the filter cup; and a tamp assembly having a tamper with a tamp surface for compacting the coffee in the filter cup, the tamp assembly being movable between: a rest position, wherein the filter cup is substantially unobstructed by the tamp assembly for receiving ground coffee; and a tamp position for compressing the coffee in the filter cup; wherein during use, movement of the tamp surface between the rest position and the tamp position is non linear.
