ANIMAL FEEDER

Abstract An animal feeder 10 including a container 12 for containing feed, a lid 14 and a feeding trough 16. The container 12 being rotationally moulded in one piece and having an open top 22 through which feed can be delivered into the 5 container 12 and which is closable by the lid 14. A lower passage 30 is provided for delivering feed to the feeding trough 16, the lower passage 30 being defined between a sloping base 36 of the container 12 and a lower side wall 34 of the container 12. The base 36 being connected to the lower side wall 34 by spaced apart posts 42 that extend integrally between the base 36 10 and the lower side wall 34 across the passage 30. The container 12 having opposite end walls 18 that include a raised bead 62 extending from adjacent the open top 22 to adjacent the feeding trough 16. An adjustable plate 46 being associated with the lower passage 30 to increase or decrease the opening of the passage 30 and that is adjustable between fully open and fully closed 15 positions. Feed directors 56 being located at each end of the lower passage 30 in connection with the end walls 18 and upstream of the opposite ends of the adjustable plate 46 in the direction of travel of feed through the lower passage 30 to direct feed away from the end walls of the adjustable plate 46.
