A Poly-Herbal Drug Composition and a Method for a Formulation of the Poly-Herbal Drug, For a Treatment of a Cognitive Frailty

Abstract The present disclosure relates to a poly-herbal drug composition, and a method for a formulation of the poly-herbal drug for a treatment of a cognitive frailty. The method comprises: washing and drying the rhizomes of Curcuma longa and Zingiber officinale, the fruits of Phyllanthus emblica and the aerial parts of Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica and Evolvulus alsinoides; pulverizing a dried plant parts of each plant separately into a coarse powder; weighing 500gm of each of the coarsely powdered material and extracting an extract of each plant powder separately with 70% ethanol (70:30::Ethanol:Water) using a Soxhlet apparatus for 6 h; filtering the extracts using a Whatman no. 1 filter paper and concentrating the extracts in vacuum using a rotary evaporator at 60°C and a vacuum lyophilizer; storing the extracts individually at 2-4°C in an airtight containers and protected from direct sunlight; and blending the rhizome extract of Curcuma longa and Zingiber officinale, the fruit extract of Phyllanthus emblica and the aerial parts extract of Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica and Evolvulus alsinoides in the specific ratio of 1:1:1:1:1:1.
