IoT BASED SMART ELECTRICAL POWER PLUG

The present invention generally relates to a smart power plug for an electrical appliance based on IoT technology. The smart power plug is controlled by a mobile application. It comprises a set of power pins to be inserted into a wall socket, to provide power to an electrical appliance.It comprises a circuit board which is configured to perform multiple actions. The actions include controlling the switching action of the smart power plug, determining a power consumption data from current and voltage measurements provided by the current sensor and the voltage sensor and determining a plurality of performance parameters of the electrical appliance using the power consumption data. The circuit board also comprises a wi-fi module for connecting the microcontroller with a wi-fi network.The smart power plug will help in detecting whether the appliance is operating efficiently.
