The present invention discloses a gravity concentration system and a chromite ore dressing method. The gravity concentration system comprises a spiral chute for roughing, a spiral chute for first-stage cleaning, a spiral chute for second-stage cleaning, a spiral chute for first-stage scavenging, and a spiral chute for second-stage scavenging. The spiral chute for roughing has a pitch-to-diameter ratio A of 0.50 to 0.55 and a cross dip B of 8.7° to 9.3°; the spiral chutes for first-stage cleaning and second-stage cleaning have a pitch-to-diameter ratio A of 0.58 to 0.62 and a cross dip B of 9.5° to 10.5°, respectively; and the spiral chutes for first-stage scavenging and second-stage scavenging have a pitch-to-diameter ratio A of 0.43 to 0.47 and a cross dip B of 8.2° to 8.6°, respectively. The roughing, cleaning and scavenging of chromite concentrates by using the above gravity concentration system can greatly improve the processing capacity and the grade and recovery ratio of chromite concentrates.
