Zusammenfassung:RENEWABLE WIND POWER THROUGH MODIFIED WIND TURBINE ROTOR FOR OPTIMAL POWER MANAGEMENT IN SMART CITIES The universe as a whole is attracted towards energy transition, for providing a best alternative for the conventional energy source, where wind energy proves itself as one of the most significant renewable energy source. Hence researchers are focused on modern technologies for the development of wind turbines. Investigation is done extensively on horizontal axis wind turbines while no such development in done in vertical axis wind turbines. This invention focuses on generating maximum wind power even at low wind speed. This potential is achieved by savonius rotor but still it has demerit of low performance in comparison with horizontal axis wind turbine. Also negative torque is generated by the blade of savonious wind turbine thereby reducing the turbine performance. This invention investigates to modify the conventional model of savonius rotor such that coefficient of power is improved. Validation of the work is done by the simulation of transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to show its improved performance. ear Box KR -- - PWM PWM abc/dq Rotorside Gridside TUds 6 s -8 controller controller Wid 1yd d -- n+ r Cnr er t ElkrkAl iytkm Figure 1.
