Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a methane oxidation catalyst, and methods of use, the catalyst having a support comprising alumina doped with lanthanum and comprising platinum and palladium as the principle active phases. The platinum and palladium are present in the catalyst in a weight ratio of between 0.20:1.0 and 0.75:1.0, at an amount effective 5 for producing a product gas having reduced levels of methane as compared to a source gas prior to catalysis. Selected catalysts disclosed herein exhibit a capacity for sulfur and water resistance.
