According to the present invention, a shielding gate (22) comprises a door body (221) that is disposed in a gap region (G) that is a region between an intra-area transport part (10) and an extra-area transport part (11) in a transport direction (X) in a closed state in which an opening portion (211) is shielded, and that is disposed at a position outside the gap region (G) in an opened state in which the opening portion (211) is opened. The length of the gap region (G) where the door body (221) can be disposed is set as a second interval. During at least a portion of a non-transportation period, the length of the gap region (G) is equal to or larger than the second interval, and the shielding gate (22) is closed. During a transportation period, the shielding gate (22) is opened, and the length of the gap region (G) is set as a first interval that is shorter than the second interval.
