ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL SYSTEM INCLUDING SURGICAL ACCESS SYSTEMS, DISTRACTION SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF USING SAME

A surgical distraction system is disclosed comprising, first and second pins, each pin configured for insertion into bone, and a distractor device. The distractor device includes first and second elongated members pivotably coupled together, each of which includes a flat portion disposed on a lateral side thereof. The flat portions are substantially parallel to each other and in abutting relationship when the distractor device is in a closed position, and substantially parallel to each other and laterally spaced apart when in an open position. Each of the first and second elongated members is configured to releasably engage one of the first and second pins.
