Zusammenfassung:3D PRINTING AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR RAPID MANUFACTURING OF CUSTOMIZED BIO IMPLANTS The requirement for bio-implants to replicate various human organs has increased recently in the medical field to serve diverse applications. The 3D Printing(3DP) technology based on the Additive Manufacturing(AM) approach is evolving rapidly and helps to serve this purpose. Customized implants can be developed to satisfy the specific requirement of the patients by modeling the 3D structure of a particular organ. It is directly created from the computer design by solidifying the various material layers sequentially. The 3 dimensional model can be developed in software like CAD. It is then converted into a Stereolithography file, and it is separated into various sections in 2D format. A computer file is generated, which can be traced by the printer. The phenomenon is carried out in a bottom-up fashion. The end product may require post-processing. The desired customized 3D implant can be obtained with enhanced quality and accurate dimensions. 1| P a g e
