Computer-implemented method and computer program product for transferring payments between users of a social media platform

The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for transferring a payment between users of at least one social media platform (SMP) which is designed to publish posts and to publish comments associated with a post, each user being associated with at least one social media account of a social media platform (SMP). The method comprises a registration step (R1, R2), at least one comment analysis step and at least one payment step. The comment analysis step comprises at least partially taking a character string from a comment comprising comment text by means of a program-accessible interface of the social media platform (SMP), the comment being associated with a post published on the social media platform (SMP), validating the character string in order to determine whether the character string is a well-formed payment character string, and, if the character string is a well-formed payment character string, determining an amount of money specified by the payment character string, identifying the social media account of the comment author who wrote the comment, and identifying the social media account of the post author who wrote the post to which the comment relates. The invention also relates to a computer program product for carrying out the computer-implemented method.
