Method for operating a press system, and press system

The invention relates to a method for operating a press system which comprises a press device and a cartridge device. The press device has at least one receiving chamber for receiving the cartridge device, at least one press unit, a controller, a drive device, and an energy supply. The method has the following steps: - introducing the cartridge device into the at least one receiving chamber (S1); - transmitting at least one first signal from a signal transmitter of the cartridge device (S2); - receiving the at least one signal of the cartridge device by means of at least one sensor of the press device (S3); - transmitting a second signal from the sensor to the controller (S4); - converting the drive device from a first operating mode to a second operating mode (S8) if the second signal corresponds to a value stored in the controller or if an algorithm stored in the controller verifies the second signal (S6), or - otherwise converting the drive device to a third operating mode (S9). The invention additionally relates to a press system for carrying out such a method.
