Biopsy device

A tissue management system is provided. The tissue management system comprises: (a) at least one tissue tray configured to collect tissue samples, wherein the at least one tissue tray includes a plurality of strips, wherein the at least one tray is configured to flex to thereby transition the strips between an arcuate configuration and a flat configuration; (b) a tray container, wherein the container is configured to receive the at least one tissue tray, wherein the container is further configured to receive the at least one tissue tray when the plurality of strips are in the flat configuration; and (c) a retainer configured to retain the at least one tray within the tray container, wherein the retainer includes a protrusion and a receiver, wherein the protrusion is configured for receipt into the receiver to maintain the position of the at least one tray within the tray container.
