The invention proposes a method for attaching a connector element (3) to a belt end (2) of a conveyor belt (1), wherein the connector element (3) has a base tier (4) and an adhesive tier (6) which is disposed on one side (5) of the base tier (4) and is 5 adhesive under the effect of heat, the base tier (4) in a central region (7) being provided with passages (8).
